As I had committed last week that I would be sharing a weekly quote every Thursday, here is the second quote of this series.
What are your thoughts about this quote? Do you agree with Earnest Hemingway?
Have you ever loved someone so much that you almost lost yourself in the process? Did you ever negate your own personality with a view to winning someone? Was it real love or mere infatuation? Have you ever suffered the pain, Hemingway is talking about?

In my humble view, Hemingway is referring to unrequited love. You only experience this anguish when your love fails to elicit any response from the person you so profoundly love. Then, you regret your choice or decision to love someone at your own expense. Nothing is more painful and insulting than being ditched in love.
Thanks for reading. Did you like this quote? Please share your feedback in the comments section.
Yes, I very much agree. Sometimes we love someone else till we start sacrificing ourselves for them. That definitely happens in unrequited love but also in requited love. When we’re with the wrong person we start to forget that we too are special.

Of course the wrong person is never worthy of our attention and love, but we get carried away by his/her fake display of love, and then suffer. It happens so often in general life, and people keep suffering at the hands of their own so called beloved. In fact, we let this happen to ourselves because of our own emotional nature and misjudgement.
Thank you Pooja for sharing your thoughts.

So true. We sometimes don’t want to accept they are the wrong person and stay with them anyway. Or they’re good at fooling us. It’s a part of life unfortunately.
My pleasure.

In either case (if we don’t accept they are the wrong person or get fooled by them) we are at the receiving end and hence suffer for being naive. Strange are the ways of love!
