The Books I Want To Read In 2023

As I had mentioned in My Goals For The Year 2023 that I wanted to read more books in 2023 and had already ordered 14 books online. Yesterday, I received these books against cash on delivery (CoD), after an agonizing wait of over two weeks. The order was supposed to be processed and delivered within 3 days. However, it wasn’t.

I was in constant contact with the online store during all this while. They apprised me that due to some technical issue in their order processing system, they were taking longer time than usual to deliver the pending orders. To add insult to injury, their customer service was also not working properly. Naturally, I was fast losing my patience owing to their poor response and inordinate delay in order delivery.

However, I didn’t cancel my order and kept waiting for days. Finally, the books were delivered yesterday, and all my anger subsided. I said to myself that I should learn the subtle art of not giving a f*ck when something didn’t go the way I had planned. I hope that I will be able to learn this art once I’ve finished reading the book with the same title.

Anyway, I am overjoyed at receiving as many as 14 books in one go. This is the largest order, I have ever placed so far as books are concerned. I want to enjoy the time spent in the company of multi-subject books.

The first book I have chosen for reading is Atomic Habits by James Clear. I have just gone through a few pages of this book, and I am finding it difficult to put it down. This book teaches you to build good habits and break bad habits. The writer has emphasized that “a slight change in your daily habits can guide your life to a very different destination.” Certain changes that appear to be small and insignificant in the beginning can compound into remarkable results if you stick to them over time. The writer declares that the quality of our lives depends on the quality of our habits, and with better habits, we can achieve whatever we can conceive of.

I will review this book in detail once I have finished reading it.

Thanks for visiting my blog and reading this post. What books are you reading this year? Please let me know in the comments section at the bottom of this post.

  5. Glad you got the books and have fun reading them. “To Kill A Mockingbird” is one of my absolute favourites. And I really enjoyed “The Great Gatsby” too. I look forward to your reviews of each of them.
